Every officer of a company must provide a Service address. This is where any formal documents being 'served' on a Director or Secretary to the company will be sent.


Note: Companies House refer to the service address for any officer as the Correspondence Address on their website.

To edit the Service address for a director or secretary follow these steps:


1. Go to the Officers tab.

                


2. Click on the yellow pencil opposite the Officer in question.
       
3. Select which service address (Director, Secretary) you would like to change.

             
4.  Input the Date of Change and select what the new Service Address will be. You will have 4 options here and must select 1:


Note: A Service Address can be anywhere but is usually the same address as the Registered Office. 

      

Once you have entered the necessary details hit the green Continue button.

            

                             

5. Inform Direct will identify whether the address which you are changing from is used elsewhere in your portfolio of companies. It will identify exact matches and similar address, if any are located it will allow you the chance to update them all in bulk. For full details, see How to change addresses in bulk

6. Before submitting the change to Companies House there is an opportunity to produce a summary document, this can be used to get approval before making the submission if necessary. Selecting Yes will take you through the process to create the approval document.


Selecting No does not create the summary document and proceeds to the next step to submit the change to Companies House.

6. When you are happy the details are correct, hit the Submit to Companies House button. This will submit form CH01 or CH03 to Companies House electronically for them to review depending on whether you have changed the Director or Secretary's address. 7. The final step will allow you to generate any necessary supporting documents - you will just need to ensure you tick the box alongside those that you require.
