The Primary User is the person/email that Inform Direct corresponds with.  The user who initially sets up the account on Inform Direct becomes the Primary User. Sometimes you may want to change this.


There must always be a Primary User.  Accordingly if the current Primary User is no longer appropriate  you will need to amend the details of the existing Primary User rather than removing them from the account and adding someone new. 


Note: many firms find it more convenient to change the Primary User to a group distribution email rather than an individual.  See Can a group distribution email address be used?


Here is how to change the Primary User details:


1. Please log in as the current Primary User and select the Your Profile option at the top of the screen.


   

2. Under Your Profile it is possible to amend the name, email address, and password to the new user. 



Note: You will not be able to have an email address already in use, so before changing these details, make sure that the new primary user's email address is not being used by another profile.  If necessary remove that user and their email.


3. Now the new primary user can log into your account using the updated details and update their password.


4. Once this has been done, the new primary user can remove any users who no longer need access.
