It is easy to add new users to your Inform Direct account.

Note: Only users on a subscription service can add new users to their account.

Third party access rights are given at the company level.

Commonly, a firm of accountants or solicitors would offer this type of access to the director or directors of their client companies. Equally the directors of a company could offer Third party access rights to their shareholders.

What different types of user are supported by Inform Direct?

1. Go to the Company tab and select "Give third party access."

Note: This will only give them access to this company.

2. Next, add the details of the person you are going to give access to and select "Continue."

Note: Each user must have a unique email address on the Inform Direct system. If you try to enter a user's email address and there is an error, this is because that user is already registered on the system. You will need to use a different email address to add that user to your account.

Note: If this user is new to your account, an invitation will be sent to the email address you enter here. Access will be granted to a new user as soon as they have activated their account by creating a password. You can also invite an existing 'Third party' user to an additional company and their access will be immediate.

3. Now you can set the level of access for the Third party user. This can either be:

  • Edit
  • View only

View only:

A Third Party user with view only rights will not be able to make any changes to the information shown for the company, the officers or the shareholders.

Note:Third party users set to View only can still receive emails if you select the boxes on this page.

Edit:

If you want the new Third party user to edit some or all of the information relating to this company then click on Edit Access. You can then choose the extent to which they can edit the details. By clicking on the heading or particular items you can restrict/allow items which can be edited.

Note: If you remove a tick, the invitee will still be able to view details in this area but will not be able to edit them.

4. To confirm, select 'Add user.' Inform Direct will then send the new Third party user an invitation by email. If they click on the link in the email they will have to set themselves a password. Once they have done this they will have access to the portfolio.

Note: Until the new user has accepted their invitation, their status will show as 'Pending'.

Note: You can have more than one third party user for any particular company. If you want to add another Third party user repeat the steps above.

A user with Third party rights will not be able to:

  • Add or remove companies from your Portfolio.
  • Submit  a confirmation statement

You can remove a Third party user or change their rights to view or edit data.
