In much the same way that shareholders in a company may require a share certificate, members of a Company Limited by Guarantee may require a membership certificate. What do Membership Certificates Look Like?

You can create the membership certificate as part of the process when adding a member (either new, or existing) to Inform Direct. See How do I Add Members?

Alternatively, you can create a membership certificate outside of the 'add member' process if necessary. This guide will detail how.

Note: Companies House do not return any details of either the members or membership classes when a Company Limited by Guarantee is added to Inform Direct. Accordingly, if you have not yet added these details then you will need to. How Do I Create a Membership Class?

1) Once the Members and Membership Classes have been added you will need to go to the Members tab and select Maintain Certificates.

2) Next, Select Add new certificate.

3) You will then need to enter the certificate issue date, confirm the member and class that the certificate is being created for and the Membership certificate number.

4) Finally press continue and select the template you wish to use. This will be stored in the document library and accessible via the Maintain Certificates section shown at step 1 above. Please see How Do I Download a Document from the Document Library? for help.
