It has always been the case that you can close or cancel your account with Inform Direct at any time.
If you manage 2 or more companies
To close an account with 2 or more companies you simply remove the companies. See How do I remove a company from my Portfolio?
For each company you will be asked whether you want to downloaded and save any documents created while the company was part of the Portfolio.
Some users like to keep a copy of the Statutory Register if nothing else. The option to do this (and download any other documents) is given after you have clicked Remove Company from Portfolio.
Whether or not you choose to keep any documents it is very quick to remove your companies - save the very last one which we need to remove. See below explaining how to remove the very last company and the rationale for this.
If there is only 1 company
Simply email us at support@informdirect.co.uk and asking to close your account and we will remove all your details.
Please note:
1. You will not be able to remove a company if there is a transaction pending i.e. waiting for Companies House to accept it.
2. You will not be able to remove the very last company from your portfolio. With only one company remaining we ask that you contact us (at support@informdirect.co.uk) confirming that you would like your account to be closed.
The reason we ask that you do this is because once the final company is removed, any documentation created or added to the Document Library is then lost. We would rather have this failsafe than a distraught user unable to access documents they may have wished they had downloaded before removing the last company.
