Inform Direct checks to ensure each date of submission is valid. When changing in bulk, there may be some changes where the date entered is not appropriate.

As part of sending a bulk address change, you may see a note letting you know that the date entered is not valid for all the address changes you are sending to Companies House. It will look like this:

Here are some examples of when the date entered may not be valid for all of the addresses chosen:

  • A company may have been incorporated after the date chosen

  • An officer may have been appointed after the date chosen

  • A PSC may only have been added after the date chosen

If the date entered would not be valid for one or more address changes in the bulk address change then for those addresses the first valid date after the entered date will be used.

These are calculated as follows:

  • Officer service address

    • The day of the officer's appointment, if the date entered is before this date

  • PSC's service address

    • The day the PSC's was confirmed as a PSC, if the date entered is before this date

  • Residential address

    • As applicable, the later of the:

      • The day of the officer's appointment, if the date entered is before this date

      • The day the PSC's was confirmed as a PSC, if the date entered is before this date

      • The day of the most recent residential address change for the PSC, if the date entered is before this date

  • Corporate Officer and/or RLE's service address

    • As applicable, the later of the:

      • The day of the officer's appointment, if the date entered is before this date

      • The day the RLE's was confirmed as a RLE, if the date entered is before this date

      • The day of the most recent corporate service address change for the RLE, if the date entered is before this date

Note: that 'Registered office address' and 'SAIL address' changes do not have a date of change sent to Companies House so these do not have any special date behaviour associated with them. Similarly, shareholder and member contact addresses are not sent to Companies House so no date applies to them.
