The cost of forming a company can vary depending on the company type, the package/additional extras selected and your account type.

Whatever company type you are forming, you will be given the option to select from 1 of 5 packages: Basic, Printed, Capital, Professional & Premium.

Full details for each package will be shown when you select the radio dial alongside each. You can also see the package details and which extras they include on our website:

Private Company Limited by Shares Company Packages

Limited Liability Partnership Company Packages

Private Company Limited by Guarantee Company Packages

Public Limited Company Company Packages

Note: If you wish to take advantage of some features of a particular package, but not all, it is possible to build your own 'custom' package by selecting 'Basic' which will allow you to 'add on' features on an individual basis.

The current package prices are shown on our website on the above links. The listed price is made up of the Inform Direct fee and the Companies House fee.

The price you actually pay to Inform Direct will vary depending on multiple factors such as your account type and whether you have your own presenter code.

What will effect the price I pay to Inform Direct?

1. Your account type.

Users with a subscription account receive a discount on all listed formation package prices.

PAYG (pay as you go) users will always pay the price shown on our website which covers both the Inform Direct & the Companies House fee. In addition to this fee, where required, anti-money laundering checks will incur an additional cost of £5.92 + VAT. See point 3 below.

Note: The cost of the incorporation, including the AML check cost and Companies House fee will always be visible on the right of the page during the process.

What Are the Benefits of Subscribing to Inform Direct?

2. Whether you have your own Presenter Code.

Users with a subscription account have the option to pay any Companies House fees via their existing credit facility with Companies House. If you are using your own Presenter Code, this means that when forming a company with Inform Direct you will not be required to pay the Companies House fee to us. Instead it will be billed directly to your credit facility with Companies House.

What is the Benefit of Having a Presenter Code?

3. Whether you are an agent forming on behalf of your clients.

If you have not yet completed the checks required to benefit from the Simplified Professional Formation Procedure then you will see an additional charge of £5.92 + VAT when completing your formation. This relates to an anti-money laundering check.

Why Do I See a Charge for £7.10 When I Start to Form a Company?

Note: In practice, this means that if you are an agent forming companies on behalf of clients and have/are due to complete our anti-money laundering checks as a subscriber to Inform Direct, you can form a private company limited by shares for just the Companies House fee.

How do I tell what fee I will pay to Inform Direct?

Inform Direct will always show you a breakdown of the expected fee on the right-hand side when completing the formation. This will include any adjustments for the reasons highlighted above, as well as showing any optional extras you may have selected outside of your chosen package.

Note: Subscribers - when the new company is successfully formed it will automatically be added to your portfolio. When your next monthly subscription fee is calculated the newly formed company will be included in the monthly subscription fee calculation. If the newly formed company is removed from the portfolio within 12 months of it being formed the calculation of the subscription fee will be as if the new company had remained in the Portfolio for 12 months after the company was formed.
