If a Company has shares held in Treasury, Inform Direct makes it easy to transfer these to a shareholder following a sale.

Shares in treasury should show as being held by the Company under the Shareholder tab per the below image. If the shares have not yet been purchased into treasury then please see  How Does a Company Purchase Its Own Shares? Sometimes Called Treasury Shares?

1. Select the yellow pencil next to the Company and select 'Transfer shares'

 2. Follow the transfer wizard through as per the process of a normal transfer. If you require guidance on the full transfer process then please see How Do I Transfer Shares?

3. Once you complete the transfer, Inform Direct will generate the SH04 form for you to notify Companies House of the sale or transfer of treasury shares. The SH04 cannot be sent via electronic filing and as such you will need to print, sign and post this to Companies House. Alternatively, you can upload the signed and completed form here.

Note: Share transfers are not submitted to Companies House. If you need to show the share transfer on the public record then you will need to submit a confirmation statement. Why Might I File a Confirmation Statement Early?

As part of this transaction, as with any other share transfer, a completed stock transfer form will be generated for you. Where Should I Send My Completed Stock Transfer Form?
