The RP02a form can be used to apply to the Registrar of Companies to rectify filings where the information was delivered on or after 1st October 2009.

The form RP02a  can be used to either rectify/remove part of a form, or to remove the entire filing. Your intent will need to be made clear when completing the form.

The completed RP02a can be uploaded to Companies House using their relatively new upload service here

The RP02a should only be used where information is either:

  • invalid or ineffective

  • delivered without the authority of the company

  • factually inaccurate or derived from something factually inaccurate

  • forged

Further to this, you can only use this form with filings relating to:

  • Officer's details

  • Officer's terminations

  • Officer's appointments

This process therefore applies to the following forms:

  • IN01 Application to register a company (Proposed directors’ or secretaries’ details only)

  • AP01 Appointment of director

  • AP02 Appointment of corporate director

  • AP03 Appointment of secretary

  • CH01 Change of director’s details

  • CH02 Change of corporate director’s details

  • CH03 Change of secretary’s details

  • CH04 Change of corporate secretary’s details

  • TM01 Termination of appointment of director

  • TM02 Termination of appointment of secretary

Note:  The RP02a is often used to amend an incorporation document where incorrect director details have been recorded.   How do I use the RP02a form to correct a directors’ Date of Birth?

Once received Companies House will check the form and your reasons for applying to remove the information from the Companies House register.

If accepted Companies House will send notice to the company and all officers that you wish to remove this information.

Companies House cannot remove any information until at least 28 days from the date they send the notice to allow for any objections to be made. If an objection is raised the case will be ceased and you will be notified. Should no such objection be raised the Information will be removed from the register with an annotation to confirm why this has taken place.

Note:  Any information removed as a result of the application will not always be replaced automatically. Consider whether you will need to file any additional forms alongside the RP02a.
