It is very simple to set up two-step verification on your Inform Direct account.


Note: each user must set this up for themselves.


Here are the steps to follow:


1. Log into your Inform Direct account


2. Click on the 'Your Profile' button.




3. This will bring up the below screen. Under Actions you will see a blue 'Enable two-step login' button.



Note: For the two-step verification to work, you will need an authenticator app. If you already have an authenticator app you can use it with Inform Direct.


If you do not yet have an authenticator app they are freely available to download.

4. You will need an authenticator app installed on your smart phone or tablet to proceed further. If you have not done this please go back to Step 3.


5. Click on the blue 'Enable two-step login' button shown in Step 3 above. This will bring up the below screen.




6. Open your authenticator app. There will an option to add an account. There are usually two ways to do this:

  • Scanning a barcode; or
  • Entering the Keycode

You will see a screen similar to the below on your authenticator app. Clicking "Scan a barcode" will allow you take a picture of the QR code on your screen using the camera on your phone or tablet. Alternatively if you selected "Enter a provided key" from your authenticator app then you can type in the Keycode.

Note: The above QR picture and Keycode are examples. You need to use the Keycode or QR picture presented to you on your device.


7. Your authenticator app will then open a new account in the name Inform Direct.  


8. Now click the green 'Continue' button.




9. You will be asked to enter the 6 digit verification code. The code will be displayed on your authenticator app.


Note: The code will refresh every 30 seconds on your device, you will need to enter the code and continue to the next step within this time frame. If you do not manage to enter the code in time and continue, you will need to enter the new code that has refreshed on the authenticator app.



10. If the code is accepted you will be asked to confirm that you wish to enable two-step login. You do this by clicking on the green 'Enable two-step login' button.                                                                                                                                                                                 

11. The authenticator app will also confirm that Inform Direct has been added and enabled.



12. The final screen presents you with a "Recovery Code". You will need to save this code in a safe place. This code is to be used when you don't have access to the device which provides you with your verification code.


What if I don't have my phone?

14. Your account is now set up to require a verification code before you can login.
