There are certain words which you cannot use without first having permission to use that word e.g. Dentist

Can I form a company with a sensitive or restricted name?

The word ‘Court’ has two meanings one of which is deemed sensitive and requires approval prior to its inclusion in a company name.

You will see this message if you include the word Court when checking to see whether the name is available.

If the chosen name implies a connection with the Her Majesty's Courts & Tribunals Service you will need to attach a letter or email of non-objection from the Ministry of Justice, 102 Petty France, London SW1H 9AJ, United Kingdom

Email: mailto:general.queries@justice.gsi.gov.uk

If the company being formed does not imply a connection with the Her Majesty's Courts & Tribunals Service you can add a document with wording to that effect. See below for an example.

A word version of this is attached. You can download this.  You will need to add the proposed name of the new company.

Once you have prepared the document you will need to save it as a PDF before adding it to your application to form the new company.
