Yes. This is possible from 30th June 2016 however there are some considerations.

Please note that if you opt to store the registers on the public record at Companies House:

1. Inform Direct will not update these for you which will impact the filings made possible through the software; and

2. Certain information goes into the public domain.

As a result of this, if you are importing a company with their registers held at Companies House to Inform Direct, it will be a requirement to remove them from the public record to complete the import process.

See How Do I Withdraw The Election To Hold Registers At Companies House?

The below is an extract from the minutes of a Companies House meeting held in London on 28th April 2016

This policy will enable private companies to elect to keep any or all of the following registers on the public record at Companies House: register of membersregister of directorsregister of directors’ residential addressesregister of secretaries; and the proposed new register of People with significant control(PSC). The company must ensure that the information on the public register is up to date in the same way that it would be required to update its own registers.

Third parties will be able to obtain information by searching the public register online rather than having to contact companies directly to obtain the information they require.  Depending on which registers a company elects to be held at Companies House, information relating to their members (e.g. their addresses) and/or full date of birth of their directors or PSCs will be available on the public record.

Companies should also be aware that should they decide to hold their registers at Companies House (June 2016) the full date of birth will be available for public inspection.
