Submissions sent from Inform Direct enter a queue at Companies House awaiting their approval, this is reflected with a Pending status.
You will see a red submit button when completing any process on Inform Direct which can be filed electronically. After you have hit submit, the filing is sent to Companies House immediately.
Companies House confirm receipt of filings to us within a minute of it being sent. This provides confirmation to us behind the scenes that it is safe with them and in their queue of submissions.
The Submission status can be viewed within Recent Activity on the Dashboard tab of a company.
The response time for submissions is not in the control of Inform Direct, sadly. Once the filing is with Companies House, it is in their hands. They set a 2 working day SLA for submission responses.
95% of submission responses are received in less than 15 minutes
The pending status will update to show as Complete once accepted, a check alert will also appear and for certain filings an email to confirm accepted will be sent.
Although 95% of submissions are completed with 15 minutes, there are some which can take longer. Should a submission remain pending for 180 minutes the below message will appear:
The pending warning confirms the time on which Companies House received the filing, allowing you to track if and when it reaches the 2 working day point.
Should you find that a submission reaches 2 working days without a response, please let us know and we can then chase for a response.
Please do not contact us sooner than 2 working days to chase a submission. We respect the SLA set by Companies House so will not chase until that point is exceeded.
