If you have used Inform Direct to prepare and file a set of micro-entity accounts at Companies House you will find it quite easy to then file the required tax return (CT600) at HMRC.
1. First make sure the Accounts have been approved. You will have received a 'success' email from Inform Direct advising that Companies House have accepted the accounts. You will also see the Submission status on the dashboard of the company showing Complete - see below
2. Log on the the HMRC site. (https://www.gov.uk/file-your-company-accounts-and-tax-return) You should see the below image. Click the green Start now>
3. You then sign in to HMRC using the Government Gateway
4. There then follows a number of steps which are largely self-explanatory and can generally be answered YES or NO.
5. When asked to Choose your filing type - see below - you would select HMRC only since you have already successfully filed accounts at Companies House.
6. HMRC will advise you when you have completed your Tax Return (CT600).
