Prior to submitting micro-entity accounts to Companies House electronically, Inform Direct allows you to create an approval document.

The steps that enable you to enter the details of your micro-entity accounts, before you reach the approval stage, are available in our guide: How do I file micro-entity accounts?

1.  Once you have entered all the details of your company's micro-entity accounts the 'Review and approve accounts' step will be available:

2. Selecting 'Yes'  to indicate that approval is required will allow you to create the the following details:

  • A summary document confirming all the micro-entity accounts details that you have entered.
  • The pages for filing with Companies House - ready for review. These will not include the authorising director's name or date of approval as these items cannot be added until the accounts are finalised.
  • Full micro-entity accounts for presentation to shareholders/members - again, ready for review and subject to approval.

Note: The options which appear will be determined by which additional pages you have selected. How Do I Produce More Detailed Micro-Entity Accounts For Shareholders?

If you are a Subscriber you can also indicate whether you wish to apply a watermark to the draft accounts. A separate set of accounts will be produced for each watermark selected.

3. A summary screen appears next containing all the details of the micro-entity accounts. You should carefully check the details, and if you identify any mistakes use the menu of options on the left-hand side of the window to return to the appropriate step to make the necessary correction.

4. You will need to tick the box at the bottom of the summary page to confirm that you understand that the accounts cannot be filed with Companies House until they have been authorised by the company directors.

5. Supporting documents populated with the details of your micro-entity accounts can be created as part of the approval process. This includes a draft board minute and written directors' resolution to document director approval of the accounts. Use the tick boxes to select any that you would like to create:

6. A PDF document will be created containing all the details entered to produce the micro-entity accounts:

7. The document also includes an area at the bottom which can be signed and dated to confirm that all the details of the accounts, as shown in the summary document, are correct.

8. If you are a Subscriber you will be able to identify from the portfolio screen which companies have submissions which are pending approval. Within the company, on the Dashboard tab, you can then choose to 'Complete', 'Edit' or 'Remove' the micro-entity accounts that are pending approval.
