Sometimes during the import process, you may come across a dropdown option once two records are merged together.

This is due to an inconsistency in the information being returned from Companies House. most of the time, this will be because the details in an individual's directorship record is different to their PSC record.

Most likely, you will see a dropdown for an individual's addresses, nationality or country of residence.

Note: An individual's directorship details will take precedence over their PSC details. However most of the time, the PSC details could be the most up to date. Check all options in a dropdown to choose the correct one.

If these details are inconsistent, you will need to choose the correct one from the dropdown list in order to up date details held at Companies House. In the below example we can select if we wish for Frank to be displayed as Mr Frank Brown or Mr Frank Micheal Brown (see below).

Note: In this example there are also discrepancies with the date of birth and residential address, you will need to select the correct records from the drop down. This will not correct the date of birth at Companies House, for help with this please see What If the Date of Birth is Incorrect?

At the end of the import Inform Direct will then look to make any corrective filings at Companies House. In this example the name will be change to 'Frank Micheal Brown' for the PSC record and the residential address will be corrected for the PSC record (see below). What Does Step 6 of the Set Up Wizard Do?

Note: You can only continue the import process with merged records if you select the correct details.
