When a company is imported to Inform Direct, if one or more share class is either nil or partly paid and the amount unpaid per share is not immediately clear to Inform Direct, it may be necessary to attribute the paid/unpaid amounts to the correct shareholders.
You will know that this is required because a message like the one below will appear on the dashboard.
To attribute the shares either click on the blue arrow in the 'Alerts & Notification' message on the Dashboard and it will take you straight to step 3 below or follow this flow:
1. Go to the Share Classes tab.
2. Click on the round blue arrow symbol opposite the Ordinary £0.01 shares. We know it is this share class which needs attributing since the message on the Dashboard specifically mentioned them.
3. Click on the Statement of Capital tab on the left hand menu. This will show the number of shares in issue and whether they are paid, unpaid or partly paid.
Note: The Yellow Triangle reflects the fact that there is a dashboard message which needs to be resolved i.e. to attribute the paid/unpaid amounts.
4. If you click on the yellow pencil icon it will bring up 3 options. Select Attribute shares.
5. Attribute the shares to the correct owners. No message goes to Companies House when you do this.
6. Click on the green 'Save Changes' button and it will take you back to the Share Classes tab. The warning on the Dashboard will no longer show.
Note: You will need to submit a confirmation statement to update the public record with this amended information.
