If you manage the company secretarial  requirements of client companies e.g. if you are an accountant or lawyer follow these simple steps to get started.




Step 1


1.1 Go to www.informdirect.co.uk and click on the green "START NOW" button.


1.2 This will take you to the Sign up screen shown below.


Step 2


2.1 You will be presented with two options. If you are a Professional e.g. Accountant or Lawyer selected the box on the right headed My clients' companies.


2.2 Enter your email address and click the green Sign up button.



Step 3


3.1 You will now be asked to enter some details of your firm.



3.2 Move the cursor to the field headed Firm name or registration number - marked 1 in the above image -and start typing the name of your firm. If your firm is a limited company or LLP then the software should recognise it. Click on your firm if you see the name appear in the dropdown list.



3.3 If you are a sole trader or traditional partnership or for some reason you are not seeing your company or LLP then please just manually enter the name of your firm.




Note
: If your firm is a limited company/LLP then you can choose later in the process whether you wish to import your firm or a different company to start the account . In either case you will need the Companies House authentication code.


3.4 Now enter the remaining fields shown on screen, including 2 which is drop-down options to describe your firm and 3 the approximate number of UK corporate clients you look after. Adding these details will help us to ensure that you are getting the best from Inform Direct.


Note: The First Name and Last Name fields 4 and 5 should be your name and not that of your client.


3.5 Once you have added the details of your firm click the green continue button.  You will then see the below Thank you screen.  This means you will have been sent a welcome email. 


Step 4


4.1 A welcome email containing an activation link will have been sent to the email address provided in 2.2. above.  This should not take more than a minute or so to arrive.


4.2 Click on the activation link and you will be asked to set a password before setting up your first company.

Step 5


5.1 Once the password is set, the next step will ask a little more about how you heard about Inform Direct.


5.2 There is a field to enter your phone number, this can be helpful in case we need to reach you, but it is an optional field.


Step 6


You will then see the chance to enter the name or number of the first limited company or LLP which you wish to import. This could be your firm or a client company. Typing the company name or number will search the Companies House record to find the company. 


The authentication code for the company will be required, for further details please see Why do I need to Provide the Company Authentication Code?



The company import process will then begin. This will bring in the current data from Companies House, for further details of how this works see How Does the Set Up Wizard Work?


Once you have successfully completed the set up of one company it is very simple to add others and achieve an overview of all your clients. How do I add a second (and subsequent) company?
