Every company that is formed must have Articles of Association.

The Inform Direct formation wizard allows you to choose between:

  • The Model Articles;
  • Enhanced articles; or
  • Bespoke articles which is what this guide will address.

Note: You cannot add Articles of Association if the company is an LLP although we do provide a template LLP Agreement if one is required.

This option is presented at Step 3 of the formations wizard. Below you will see a £20 + VAT fee, this is not applicable for subscribers to Inform Direct.

To upload your own Bespoke articles, select the applicable radio button.

Note: Please ensure the file name does not contain any special characters such as commas or full stops as this can prevent the upload for security reasons.

You should have the bespoke articles ready. They must:

  • Be complete
  • NOT include the memorandum of association
  • Should be saved as a PDF.

You can 'drag' the PDF document from your desktop to the 'drop' area on your screen. Alternatively, use the browse feature to select the prepared PDF file.

Note: The document you upload will be sent to Companies House without being reviewed by Inform Direct. It is your responsibility to ensure that the articles are correctly drawn up and that you have attached the correct version.

If the bespoke articles include a legal restriction, please indicate this by answering 'Yes' to: 'The company has legal restriction on changes to its articles.'
