You will still need to file a tax return to HMRC for a dormant company, unless:
- You have contacted HMRC and they have consented that you do not need to file a tax return.

Without the consent of HMRC, you will need to file a tax return, even if there has been no trading or money involved.
Note: If a tax return for a dormant company is overdue, a fine will be incurred from HMRC.
