For some users, Inform Direct will only show the blue ‘Prepare & file accounts’ button for companies that are eligible to file either Dormant or Micro-Entity accounts through the software. However, Subscribers using their own presenter code may be able to file a wider range of company accounts.

Micro-entity accounts can be prepared and filed for private limited by shares and private limited by guarantee companies. Subscribers using their own presenter code can also upload an iXBRL accounts file for Limited Liability Partnerships that wish to file micro-entity accounts (or other types of accounts), and authorise Inform Direct to electronically submit this to Companies House on their behalf.

Unless you are a Subscriber using your own presenter code, the below criteria must also be met to ensure the ‘Prepare & file accounts’ button appears:

  • The accounting category returned by Companies House is Micro, Dormant, Null or No accounts filed.
  • Although accounts can be filed for currencies other than GBP, you will not see the option to file if the share classes are in different currencies (i.e one GBP and one USD)
  • The company has more than 5 share classes

Note: If you want to know how the Dormant Company Accounts wizard works please see the guides:

If you are a Subscriber using your own presenter code, you can also upload an iXBRL company accounts file to Inform Direct and authorise us to electronically submit this to Companies House on your behalf. This service allows you to file additional company accounts types, such as small, medium, group and audited accounts. See: How do I upload and file IXBRL company accounts?
