Share splits which take place outside of Inform Direct are not reflected within the system, so your share class will appear unreconciled.

To resolve the unreconciled share class, you will need to recreate the share split within Inform Direct.

The first thing to identify is which process needs to be followed, see the 2 screenshots below to identify which is the relevant situation:

A. If the share class which you are splitting from, and the class which you are splitting in to show on separate lines under the Share classes tab, please follow the guide below.

B. If the class is shown on just one line, with the pre-split shareholding and post-split total number of shares, please see our other guide How to replicate a share split completed before the company was imported?

1. Go to the 'Share Classes' tab and select the blue 'Share reorganisation' button.

2. Clicking 'Next' will start the Inform Direct 'Share Split' wizard.

3. Enter the 'Date of share split.' This is the date that the share split happened as reflected at Companies House.

4. Next, we will need to show the old share class that was split into the new one. Insert the details

5. Now you will be informed that these shares are unreconciled. You can click 'Proceed.'

Before submitting the split you will be asked if approval is required, this allows you to create a summary document to be approved prior to creating the Companies House form.

Note: The approval feature is only available to subscribers of the software. What are the benefits of subscribing to Inform Direct? Pay as you go users will skip straight to the step below.

Note: Once pending, the approval for the action can be completed from the company dashboard tab.

6. You will see a summary of the share split details.

Note: Since the Submit button is green, no message is sent to Companies House electronically. This is simply reconciling details in Inform Direct.

7. You then have a chance to generate Companies House forms. Since this is reconciling details, you may not need to produce these.

Note: You should now see that the shares have reconciled in the share classes tab. If there are still issues, please get in touch using support@informdirect.co.uk
