Inform Direct is able to record whether shares are:

  • Fully Paid
  • Partly Paid; or
  • Nil Paid

If the details for any share class are incorrect it is simple to amend them using Inform Direct. The below example will show you how.

If you have recently imported a company and you see the below message on your dashboard this means that the information coming back from Companies House was inconsistent i.e. the shares were coming back as both paid and unpaid.  This simply needs to be corrected.

1. Go to the Share Classes tab.

2Clicking on the round blue arrow symbol opposite this share class will bring up the details for just this class.

Click on the Statement of Capital tab on the left hand menu. This will show the number of shares in issue and whether they are paid, unpaid or partly paid.

3. If you click on the yellow pencil icon it will bring up to 3 options. Select 'Amend Amounts.'

Note: Only use the Amend amounts feature to correct information returned by Companies House which is wrong. Distinguish this from processing a call payment when the information was correct and the company is simply updating its records following a call payment.

How do I process a call payment?

4. Click the green 'Save Changes' button.

Note: No message goes to Companies House when you do this. You will need to submit a confirmation statement to update the public record with this amended information.

5. Click on the green 'Continue' button and it will take you back to the Share Classes tab at step 1 above. From there you can either update any other share classes which show the wrong amounts paid or unpaid or navigate away completely.
